Hussain Bin Ali (HA)

Founder & Word Puzzle Editor at Jumble Solver

I build free tools that unscramble letters into real words.

I also write daily Jumble answers and show how each word and caption pun is solved.

About

Hussain Bin Ali (HA) is the founder and word puzzle editor of Jumble Solver.

He has written online since 2022. Today his work centers on the Daily Jumble, a newspaper puzzle that is widely syndicated.

On jumblesolver.info he builds free solvers that check letters against three word lists: NWL (US and Canada), CSW (UK and Australia), and ENABLE.

He also writes the daily answer posts and the word-by-word notes that go with them.

He maintains a puzzle generator, printable worksheets for classrooms and families, and the Jumble Solver Android app.

Explain the answer

A bare answer list helps for a minute. A page that shows why KMAERB is EMBARK, and not BAKER, helps with tomorrow’s puzzle too.

Check puns by hand

Caption answers like “FEE-ASCO” are not in any dictionary. Each one is checked against the circled letters by hand, and the post explains the joke.

Name the word list

“Is it a real word?” depends on the list. The solver lets you pick NWL, CSW, or ENABLE, so a match is never vague. On Android, NWL works offline.

Fix mistakes in public

Papers sometimes print different letters. An answer can also be wrong. Email hello@jumblesolver.info and the page will be corrected.

Path

From writing online to running a word puzzle site with daily answers and free solvers.

  1. Started writing

Began writing online. That habit later grew into Jumble Solver.

  2. Launched Jumble Solver

Built jumblesolver.info. Daily Jumble answers started in September 2026, with solvers, a puzzle generator, and worksheets.

  3. Now

    Word by word

Publishes daily answers, a breakdown page for every word and caption, and the Android app that runs the same solver offline.

Away from the desk

Puzzle work means long hours at a screen. The rest of the week is about moving.

Gym

Strength training

A counterweight to desk work. Showing up for plain sets is the same habit that gets a daily post finished.

Swimming

Laps in the pool

No screen and no letters. Just counting lengths after a morning of scrambled words.

Cricket

Playing cricket

A long team game. Patience matters as much as talent.

Snooker

A game of angles

Planning a few shots ahead is not so different from choosing which scrambled word to solve first.

How an answer post is made

The same four steps, every day. No guesswork in the finished page.

  1. Solve from the printed letters

Start with the scrambled words exactly as the puzzle prints them. Then note which letters are circled.

  2. Check every word

Each solved word is checked against the solver’s word lists, so the page never shows a guess.

  3. Check the caption by hand

The circled letters must spell the caption answer exactly, including pun spelling.

  4. Write the notes

Add the anchor chunk, the near-miss word, the hardest word of the day, and why the joke works.
